     Ramallah, July 9, 2026 - The Minister of Women's Affairs, Ms. Mona Khalili, at the closing conference of the "Empowering Youth for Civic Engagement and Peacebuilding" project, which is implemented by the Women's Affairs Technical Committee in partnership with Oxfam and supported by the Kingdom of Belgium, under the motto "Active Youth Toward Civic Engagement and Sustainable Peacebuilding."

    The Minister of Women's Affairs, Ms. Mona Khalili confirmed that the Palestinian youth are not only the future of this nation, but they are also partners in shaping its present, bearers of its national project, and creators of hope despite all the challenges surrounding us. Empowering Palestinian youth is not just a developmental program, but a national choice and a strategic investment through the resilience of our people, in their ability to build the institutions of their state, strengthen the cohesion of their society, and preserve their national identity.

     Al-Khalili added that Security Council Resolution 2250 emphasized the necessity of involving youth as active partners in peace, security, and sustainable development, which aligns with the national vision that believes youth are not mere recipients of policies but partners in their formulation and creation. She affirmed that the Ministry of Women's Affairs views this resolution in the context of its complementarity with Security Council Resolution 1325, based on the conviction and belief that building peace cannot be achieved without the full and active participation of both women and youth, and without ensuring justice, equality, and equal opportunities in decision-making positions.

    Al-Khalili indicated that the project succeeded in building the capacities of young men and women in the fields of leadership, governance, advocacy, and community participation, supporting youth initiatives that responded to the needs of local communities, enhancing dialog between youth, local authorities, and decision-makers, and contributing to the activation of the Youth Group (2250) as a national platform for dialog, advocacy, and joint action. She affirmed that the Ministry of Women's Affairs will continue to work with all partners to enhance the participation of women and youth, instill the values of justice and equality, and empower the rising generations to lead the path of development and build just peace.
