Al-Khalili inaugurates a training on preparing business plans and economic feasibility studies for projects in Jenin.

During her tour of Jenin Governorate, and under the patronage of Jenin Governor Kamal Abu al-Rub, Minister of Women’s Affairs Mona al-Khalili inaugurated a training course on the preparation of business action plans and economic feasibility studies for projects. The training was held at the Jenin Association for Family Solidarity and Mutual Support, in partnership with the General Union of Palestinian Women and with support from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation.

Jenin Governor Kamal Abu al-Rub commended the efforts of the Ministry of Women’s Affairs to implement economic initiatives in Jenin Governorate with support from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation. He emphasized the importance of supporting women and strengthening their economic capacities, as well as the role of these initiatives in enhancing women’s resilience, empowering them, and promoting their participation in development.

He also stressed the importance of supporting women’s and grassroots organizations and strengthening their capacity to implement projects that contribute to improving women’s economic conditions and enhancing their role in society.

Al-Khalili emphasized the importance of the training in developing women’s capacities and advancing their economic empowerment. She noted that the training forms part of the economic initiatives programme launched by the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, through which the Ministry supports women-led organizations and initiatives and strengthens their sustainability, alongside its efforts in the areas of political and social empowerment, legislative and legal review, and the enhancement of the protection system.

She explained that the Ministry will support a number of women’s and grassroots organizations in Jenin Governorate following the completion of an assessment process based on the approved criteria. The training represents the first stage of capacity development and organizational readiness. Upon completion of the training and evaluation of its outcomes, financial support will be provided to institutions and initiatives that meet the required criteria, enabling them to further develop, finance, and follow up on their project ideas.

Al-Khalili also commended the efforts of Jenin Governorate in advancing women’s issues and strengthening partnerships with women’s and grassroots organizations.

For her part, Wafaa Zakarneh presented an overview of the project and the training programme, highlighting their importance in empowering the participating organizations and strengthening their capacity to prepare business plans and economic feasibility studies. This will contribute to developing their projects and enhancing their readiness to benefit from the support provided.

The training aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to prepare business plans and economic feasibility studies, thereby, contributing to the development of women-led initiatives and projects and enhancing their prospects for success and sustainability.
