AlKhalili and Mr. Kmeil assures the importance of complementarity of all exerted efforts to support women and enhance their resilience in Tulkarem Governorate

The Minister of Women's Affairs, Ms. Mona Khalili, met the Governor of Tulkarm Governorate, Dr. Abdullah Kmeil, at the governorate's headquarters, where the two sides discussed the situation of Palestinian women in the governorate, the main challenges they face under the current circumstances. In addition, they discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation to support economic and social empowerment programs and strengthen the resilience of women and their families. This meeting comes as part of a tour conducted by the Ministry of Women's Affairs in Tulkarem Governorate, which includes the launch of the second phase of the economic initiative to support and empower grassroot women's institutions and associations, contributing to expanding economic opportunities for women and enhancing their resilience. Furthermore, the meeting was attended by several representatives of women's institutions, along with the accompanying delegation from the ministry, including the Deputy Minister of Women's Affairs, Ms. Buthaina Al-Salem.

The Governor of Tulkarm Governorate, Mr. Abdullah Kmeil, welcomed the minister and the accompanying delegation, appreciating the visit by the Ministry of Women's Affairs to the governorate and what it reflects in terms of concern for the reality and needs of Palestinian women in light of the exceptional circumstances the governorate is experiencing. He reviewed and displayed the situation in Tulkarm Governorate, particularly the conditions in the Tulkarm and Nour Shams refugee camps, and the challenges faced by women and families due to the ongoing occupation's assaults and policies of displacement and destruction. He emphasized the importance of integrating efforts among various national institutions to strengthen the resilience of citizens and support women, as they are among the most affected groups by the current conditions. He also appreciated the role played by the Ministry of Women's Affairs in developing programs and initiatives aimed at empowering women and enhancing their economic and social participation.

For her part, Al-Khalili praised the role played by Tulkarm Governorate in serving citizens despite the exceptional circumstances, affirming that the continuous assaults and acts of displacement and destruction of infrastructure faced by the governorate, particularly Tulkarm and Nour Shams refugee camps, multiply the challenges faced by women and families, and necessitate intensifying national efforts and strengthen partnerships between various institutions to ensure their resilience. She reviewed the main areas of work of the Ministry of Women's Affairs, which focus on economic and social empowerment, enhancing the protection system, and pushing for policies that are more responsive to women's needs. She also reviewed the second phase of the economic initiative implemented by the ministry to support and empower grassroot women's institutions and associations, affirming that this initiative contributes to enhancing economic opportunities for women and supporting their resilience and their families, especially the most affected governorates by the occupation's aggression
