Al-Khalili visits the Arab Women's Union in Beit Sahour and reviews the programs of the Basma Rehabilitation Center.

The Minister of Women's Affairs, Ms. Mona AlKhalili visited the Arab Women's Union in Beit Sahour as part of the tour conducted by The Ministry of Women’s Affairs and the accompanying delegation in Bethlehem Governorate, where she was received by the Mayor of Beit Sahour, Laith Qumsieh, the Director of the Basma Rehabilitation Center, Basma Jaqman, and the members of the Union's administrative board, to learn about the Union's role and community programs, and to enhance cooperation with women's and local institutions.

During the visit, Al-Khalili toured the Al-Basma Rehabilitation Center affiliated with the Arab Women's Union, where she was briefed on the programs and services it offers. She listened to an explanation about the rehabilitation, training, and production workshops conducted by the center, which involve people with disabilities. These activities include weaving, paper recycling, handicrafts, and other initiatives that contribute to developing the beneficiaries' skills, enhancing their independence, and integrating them into society.

The director of the Basma Center, Basma Jaqman, welcomed the Minister of Women's Affairs and the accompanying delegation, appreciating this visit and the ministry's interest in communicating with women's and community institutions and understanding their work and needs. She reviewed the role of the Arab Women's Union in Beit Sahour in providing community services, and the role of the Basma Center in offering rehabilitation, education, and training programs, which enhance the beneficiaries' capabilities and support their participation in society.

The Minister of Women's Affairs, Ms. Mona Khalili emphasized the importance of supporting women's institutions and enhancing their role in serving the community, praising the role played by the Arab Women's Union in Beit Sahour and its various programs, as well as the exerted efforts in strengthening women's resilience and providing community services. She affirmed the Ministry of Women's Affairs readiness to cooperate with the Union and discuss any ideas or proposals that can be supported within the economic initiative launched by the ministry, contributing to the development of programs and projects and enhancing opportunities for economic empowerment.

By the end of the visit, the head of the municipality of Beit Sahour welcomed her Excellency visit with the accompanying delegation of the Ministry, emphasizing and praising the role of Arabic Women Federation in serving the local community, and the programs it provides, especially in the field of empowering the disabled people, enhance their capacities and their integration in the Palestinian community. He assured that the Federation represents a model for all active society institutions, pointing out to the role in providing job opportunities , where 35 female employees work, which directly impacts 35 Palestinian families.
