Al-Za'eem and Al-Khalili review the gender data and statistics report at the Ministry of Justice for the year 2025.

Ramallah 6-9-2026 – The Minister of Women's Affairs, Ms. Mona Al Khalili participated in a dialogue session to review the gender data and statistics report of the Ministry of Justice for the year 2025, where she was received by the Minister of Justice, Counselor A. Sharhabil Al-Za'im, and the meeting was held with the participation of the Acting Head of UN Women in Palestine, representatives of the Sawa'a 3 program, and representatives of civil society and the justice sector, at the Ministry of Justice premises.

 The Minister of Justice, Advisor Sharhabil Al-Za'im, welcomed Minister Al-Khalili and the attendees, praising the role of the Ministry of Women's Affairs in promoting gender issues, and valuing the importance of partnership and cooperation between various institutions and relevant entities. He affirmed that the Ministry of Justice believes that integrating a gender perspective is an essential part of the justice and rule of law system, noting that the Gender Data and Statistics Report for the Ministry of Justice in 2025 constitutes an important knowledge base based on data and indicators to identify strength points and gaps, set priorities, and develop evidence-based policies and interventions, thereby, contributing to enhancing institutional equity. His Excellency Al Za’im emphasized the importance of coming up with actionable recommendations that can be built upon, which would enhance efforts to integrate gender perspectives in the Ministry of Justice and develop institutional work in this field.

 For her part, Al-Khalili praised the role of the Minister of Justice, Advisor Sharhabil Al-Za'im, in supporting and enhancing the work of the Gender Unit in the Ministry of Justice, considering that the preparation of the report represents an important step in institutionalizing justice and equality within national institutions. She emphasized that the value of data does not lie in producing numbers alone, but in analyzing and using them to identify gaps, develop policies, and make evidence-based decisions.

She pointed out that the report's results show progress in the representation of women in supervisory positions, with a continued need to enhance their presence in senior leadership roles. She emphasized the importance of ensuring women's access to justice, legal protection, and judicial services in a fair and accessible manner, especially in less privileged areas. Al Khalili stressed that integrating a gender perspective is a shared institutional responsibility that should be reflected in planning, budgeting, legislation, procedures, and services.

 It is worth mentioning that the Gender Data and Statistics Report of the Ministry of Justice for the year 2025 was prepared by the Gender Unit in the ministry. It provides an analytical reading of the reality of integrating a gender perspective through data and indicators related to human resources, representation in job positions, participation in events and training programs, and the judicial services provided to the public. The aim is to provide an informational baseline, support decision-making, identify gaps and challenges, and develop evidence-based policies and plans.
